A LITTLE ABOUT DAVENPORT DAY CARE
My name is Christine Davenport. I started my day care in 1991 and have been a state-licensed provider ever since. I have kept current with all the state-required CPR, Child Safety, and First-Aid requirements, as well as non-required classes, seminars, and monthly child care providers' forums. I have acquired a lot of valuable information over the years and am always interested in learning new techniques to keep my day care exciting and fun. Helping the children to learn how to interact with others and showing them how important it is to be kind and thoughtful to others is as important (I think) as learning the basics, like ABC's, 123's, colors, shapes, etc., which we also do here.
Here are some of the other advantages my program has to offer: We have a wonderful daily routine so that the children have structure to their days. Over the many years I have been in child care, I have been able to set up a comfortable environment that encourages interactive playtime, as well as one-on-one time with me for the children. My home is clean, safe, well organized, and stocked with all the age-appropriate toys, games, and activities for both inside and outside time. I provide meals of the highest quality, as well as all the necessary bedding for each child. Cribs and playpens are also provided for little ones. I do a thorough cleaning of all necessary items at the end of every week. I like to have a very open and honest relationship with all the parents so that together we can do the very best for each child.
I started this business because I felt I had a true calling and gift for it: I was right and I have never looked back. To be able to bring joy to children and comfort to their parents is a great accomplishment and makes me feel every day that I have done what I set out to do.
